Title: Leamington Ontario Flat Track Race (Canada)
Post by: Phil Bolichowski on July 03, 2015, 07:43:49 AM
For those of you that are not going to the Blue Gras Boogie, there may be something else to do that weekend.

There is an annual 1/2 mile Flat Track motorcycle race in Leamington Ontario (Canada) Saturday evening July 18th. This is put on by the local riding club called the Erie Ramblers and is called "THUNDER FEST". Practice starts at 3PM while the races start at 5PM and go till 10PM under the lights. It's a small farming community and the race is held at the local fairground with a nice grand stand.(Its still used as a horse track). The track is about 30 minutes from the Ambassador bridge.

We will meet for a late lunch for those that are interested at:
John Max Sports & Wings
3208 Dougall Ave (within the Walmart plaza in Windsor about 10 minutes from the bridge)
Meet at 1:30PM to 2:30
Then a group ride thru the county (by Lake Erie this year) to the track.

OR just meet us at the track, it's located at:

154 Erie Street N
Leamington Ontario Canada

Cost is $15 at the gate
Don't forget to ask for a pit pass armband. You will need to sign a waiver.
This lets you walk the pits and talk to the riders and check out the bikes up close.
It also allows access to the standing area in turn #1. (great place to watch)

*** Remember you will need a passport to enter Canada***
No need to sign-up or call in, just show up as you see fit.

Enjoy

Sounds like a rip roaring good time. Alas, it's more than than I can currently commit to doing right now.
