Title: October Luncvh Ride-in
Post by: Patmo on October 03, 2014, 12:45:05 PM
We will hold the October lunch ride-in at Miguel"s Pizza, on Sarturday the 18th of October.  Meet time is 12:30. The address is 1800 Natural Bridge Rd. Slade, Kentucky.  The phone there is 606-663-1975.  Their web page is www.miguelspizza.com     This is their 30th anniversary year of being open.  This family run business is a local hot spot for rock climbers, hikers, and campers that flock to the Red River Gorge area all months of the year.  The fall foliage should still be in high bloom at this time, and it should be a great ride for everyone.  Hope to see lots of people there!

This will be the last pre-scheduled lunch ride-in this year.   November is a tricky month to pre-plan ride events, but I hope we can still find a weekend where we can get together, although it will be with much shorter notice I'm afraid.

Pat, Kate and I are planning on making this one as Miguel's is our favorite pizza place and the ride up from Berea is fabulous. See you in two weeks.

Put pictures and a small report up on the MSTA Facebook page.

Great to see everyone, Eric nice to meet you, don't know what will happen Nov-March as weather is hard to predict in advance.  Keep an eye on the forecast as might have some very short notice ride-ins if we can get a nice sat or Sunday.

Rick suggested that we just keep doing them and DRIVE OUR CARS if necessary.  I kinda like this idea, but want some feedback from others......thoughts?

I'm one of the regulars at the 3rd Saturday breakfast for SW OH and most or all of us have used our cars to get to this breakfast at one time or another.  Getting together by car is much better than not getting together!

Eric....I always cross post these lunch ride-ins on other KY and SW Ohio forums, and invite those there to join us.  I also always encourage everyone to bring a friend or two.  Most of those people are MSTA people, but there were a few the aren't.....(yet).

Yeah but you only have 3 curves in like 30,000 miles of road, what fun is that :)

We had a nice 300+ mile ride in mostly twisty roads of eastern Ohio last weekend and saw temps in the 70s. I may not be able to ride much Nov-March, but when I am riding I am lucky to have some very good roads nearby. And in summer I can even ride during the middle of the day, don't have to skip most of the daylight because of the heat.
