I'm doing Cardio Rehab Monday, Tuesday and Friday and getting stronger every day!
I was seeing how heavy that Super Tenere really is!

I'm looking hard at a Yamaha FJ09... that's 130-140 pounds liter than my Tenere! That's a lot. But I think the Tenere is still a better road trip bike.

I keep thinking I should sell the 1999 SV650 that I bought from Jim and Ginny LaPoint. But probably can't get much for it so it's hardly worth selling.

I test rode an FJ-09 earlier this year when the Yamaha demo truck was at a local dealership. I'm not generally attracted to new things, but an FJ-09 would be on my short list if I had space in my garage and appropriate funds become available. I liked it. Everyone's got different requirements, but I think it would be a fine road-trip bike.

The FJ09 is the bike that Chris and I rented in Munich in 2015 when we rode the Alps. We both fell in love with them.
So yesterday I stopped in the Yamaha dealer in Hickory just to see what he had. As I came in the door there was a flat black FJ09 a 2015 new bike and a giant sign "OTD price $8,999". Now my Tenere is the flat black and a close friend who I ride with Lee's is flat black. I just couldn't do it but that is a good price for a new bike.

Was that this week/weekend?  :(  The wife and I (with the kid)  are up in Calico Rock for a mini vacation at a cabin that's owned by a friend of hers.  I was out yesterday on some gravel roads and did part of Push Mountain Road.

I ran into two guys on a pair of Versys 1000s chated with them for a second.   Didn't even think to ask if they were with MSTA.

Hope everyone had a great time :)

Brick, that's the reason that I ended up with the VFR for a sport-touring bike instead of a ST1300 or FJR.  However, compared to my FZ6, it's still a porker.  I've heard many life-long bikers say that the reason they gave it up was because their bikes suddenly took on mysterious weight.  Sad to say, that now even the FZ6 is starting to feel heavy. My friend, Dave Stockton just traded in his BMWF800 set up for sport touring.  With it's low mounted engine and gas under the seat it's probably the less top weight, retaining ample performance, of them all.  I'm intentionally staying away from the test ride that his BMW dealer is offering because I like my FZ6 so well. 8)

I used to have a FZ-6 setup for touring.  Wish I had it back :(.  Rode it to T-24.  Had a blast on it.

I don't think I'll ever sell mine.  Fits me well, does everything I need it to, very dependable, and paid for!
