As you can see the forum is back up. We have lost our many customisations (mods) but I think we have not lost any threads or users. Many thanks to the helpful folks at SMF support forum: Arantor, Sir Osis of Liver and Steve.
I will start trying to re-install mods as time permits.
Update. Within 10 minutes of the forum going back up 3 spammers had joined and spammed us. I spotted them because I was checking to make sure recent registrants were present and these 3 were at the top of the list. Bots probably. I zapped em and their spam. However to stop this I have changed registration from open to requires admin approval. 30 minutes later there were 12 more waiting approval. Apparently one of the mods we lost was an anti spam mod. I will look for it and install. But be forewarned, until further notice new registrations will require admin approval.

Thanks Bob for your perseverance in getting the web site and forum back up.
I know it must have been frustrating for you.

Thanks everyone! :trink39: Yes it was frustrating, mostly because the tool that Godaddy provided for previewing the new site, a DNS bypass, does not work with my satellite IP. So I had to go to the parish library with my tablet to troubleshoot and even with the bypass working I could not troubleshoot the forum since it is all data driven with server side scripts. Thanks for you patience!

I guess Brick was not the only one that was not Banned with a mod. I got in also.
Thanks to Everyone that helped with all the hard work getting the forum back up and running!
-
Congratulations, Bob on restoring both email and website servers!

Thank you so much for your hard (and frustrating) work. It's greatly appreciated. Syd :D

Thank you Bob for all your hard work!
Wondering if we lost the GPS route information?
TIA

I do not see the downloads menu item that I remember. There is a "downloads system" mod that I suspect enables that but when I try to install it I get a database error. Will require some further investgation....
P.S. It will take lots of eyes to find all the missing pieces, each of us has their own favorite things on the forum so do not hesitate to point out something missing (like Pyg Ryder did, big thanks to him). I will prioritize work on the things I miss and those that are posted.

Your work putting back the pieces is greatly appreciated! - JEP-

Thanks for all the effort Bob. Now, it's just baby steps to find the gremlins and missing tweeks. Especially good job on spotting and nixing the bots.

I was able to get the DOWNLOADS SYSTEM re-installed and it looks like most content is intact. I did a test upload and it worked.
This system has a jillion configuration options and I was just guessing as I set it up. It looks different but the functionality seems to be there.
However, as adminstrator I cannot test how it works for regular members, so do not hesitate to contact me if something is not working for you. I did attempt to configure it so that only MSTA members could use it.

I can attest to Bob's stick to it attitude. I sent him a PM yesterday on something that wasn't working. After 2 tries, BAM! There it was. So, if you find an issue pipe up to Bob in a PM - don't blast him on the forum - and he'll take care of it as best he can. Kudos to Bob.

Thanks for all your hard work Bob, as somebody who works in IT I know how frustrating some of this can be.
I'll try to poke around in the coming days to see if I notice any issues.

Thanks Steve. Need all the help I can get :-\ Re-installed the member map but it is borked. (Technical term I picked up on the SMF support forum) Shows the map and list of pinned users but no pins :-[
-
Today I managed to get the Member Map re-installed and I invite members not on the map to stick your pin.
Members who joined since early October did not see the Map item on the top menu but it is now there.

Well done on the map Bob. You just keep knocking it out of the ballpark.

I see you have also added a few new tabs, nice!
Way to go Robert! -JEP-
