« on: October 14, 2017, 07:45:22 AM »
It is with the heaviest of hearts and with much sadness that I Post this....

It is being reported that our friend and fellow MSTA member, Ann Reidner, passed away yesterday in an off-road motorcycle accident, while in Utah.  She will be remembered for her grace, ready smile, can-do attitude and wonderful personality.  She was many times a great help to me and others and always a pleasure to be around.  We have lost a good person and are truly lessened by this loss.  RIP Ann.

Details on arrangements will follow as we get them......updated 10/26/2017

There will be a service for Ann on Saturday Dec. 16, at Orchard Lake Community Church, 5171 Commerce Rd. West Bloomfield, Michigan 48324

Visitation will start at 10am with a service at 11am.

All who knew Ann that wants to come and celebrate the life of Ann are welcome.

So very sad to hear the news about Ann, she loved the sport of motorcycling, and spent most of her free time riding or working on her many bikes. As my Vice-President she was very informative and always a calming voice. She spent many hours working with State Directors and Volunteers to make our organization as proficient as possible. Her advertising and marketing skills will be missed.
Ann will never be forgotten...RIP

I can't wrap my head around this news. What a heartbreaking way to begin the day reading this. Ann was such a wonderful person, a true ambassador for motorcycling worldwide. I'm gonna miss her smiling face, because it's the only way I ever saw her. She will truly be missed by many. Rest easy Ann.

Heard about this from my brother Richard while out riding today, hit me like a ton of bricks. Ann was a true ambassador for our sport and the MSTA. I'll never forget her smiling face, the warm greetings when I'd see her at an event, and the many ways in which she helped our club.

Godspeed Ann.

After reading all the postings about this tragic accident, I am still in shock.  I first got to know Ann as we were thinking about volunteering for the Dan Clark Safety Program.  We had several phone and email conversations.  She was very helpful getting us involved.  She was always very easy to get in touch with and helpful with questions.   Motorcycling and MSTA lost a great friend.

OMG!!! I just don't want to believe this. What a special and very sweet lady and truly a lover of life in general and bikin' in particular. Always friendly and always gracious, even when she shouldn't have been. She will be sorely missed in this world and club that are both now lesser places. I'm sure an appropriate tribute will be paid.
Short related story: At STAR '15 in Arkansas, I learned that she was a fan of Skyline Chili. It's a Cincinnati thing and Texas people won't like it but Ann did. She said when ever she came this way she would find her way to Skyline to get her fix. Since I went straight home after STAR I was already here and she was wandering before turning north. I met her for dinner before the last leg home to Michigan and even sent her some (canned) as a surprise so she could enjoy it during the long northern winter.

Our hearts ache for her family and friends.
Godspeed Ann,  TM

I had chances to talk with Ann through our mutual connection to the EC, but we found ourselves riding together at TriSTAR in 2016. We wandered most of the day on roads that were parallel, sort of, to one of the routes, but often found ourselves having to turn around at dead ends or places where we finally decided were getting too far off the beaten path. We stopped once and had a wonderfully relaxing chat next to a roaring river somewhere in NE North Carolina. She was a delightful person, and I'm blessed to have been able to spend a day with her.

There is a short article in the Oakland Press of the Ann Redner accident

For anyone interested and a Facebook user, there is a memorial page for Ann. They have stated that a memorial or celebration of life will be planned in the future. If you click on the community portion, you will see (and be able to make) posts by friends, family etc.  Here is the page https://www.facebook.com/AnnGraceRedner/
RIP Ann, we love you and you all did for the sport.
