Hey there. This is Greg from West Chester, OH (Cincinnati) going by the user name of Fazer. Saw an article in Rider magazine (April 2014) and just ran across it again. It was about the Star ride. I ride a 98 Honda Valkyrie and got back into riding about 5 years ago with a 40 year hiatus from my first bike, a 1972 Honda CB 350. (Wish I had that bike today.) I'm a member of the Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club which holds an annual get together of Valk riders which moves around the country, similar to your Star. Roanoke VA last June and Billings MT the year before.
Looking to learn more about MTSA and participating in some of your rides.

Hi Greg,
Next year STAR will be in Bristol VA...right across the street from Bristol, TN! :-)

Hi Greg,
Go to the official Club website at http://ridemsta.com/srblog/ and you can learn more about the club. There is a nice week long event in Marietta, Ohio at the end of August and you can find info on that here http://flybyweek.com/

Yep come to Marietta if you can, even if just for a day, and meet some of the MSTA folks. Many riders from Cincy and Columbus area attend regularly and can get you info on their local groups activity.

Welcome, Greg! I'll second the suggestion to to the Fly-By, it's always great fun.
Also, the 3rd Saturday of each month there's a 9:00 AM breakfast meetup at the Village Family Restaurant in Waynesville - the next one is Aug. 18. That's a good opportunity to meet a few MSTAers.

Welcome! There are several MSTA members in the Cincinnati area, and some who even live in West Chester. As Brian said, the breakfast meet in Waynesville is a great place to meet some local MSTA members..3rd Saturday of every month.
The regional events, like the Mail Pouch Flyby, are the heart and soul of the Motorcycle SPORT-TOURING Association, as they give the members the opportunity to travel and tour in many different areas of the country every year. They also give us the opportunity to ride our bikes on some of the best sport type roads in the country. Our STAR event is like one of our regional events on steroids, except that it’s location moves every year and the regional events tend to stay at the same place or at least in the same area every year.
We also do have local rides and get togethers throughout the year. Some of these are regular events held every year, but most are often spur of the moment things that are put together via email, Facebook, this forum, or decided upon at something like the Waynesville breakfast. Hope to meet you at one of the breakfasts. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

Hi Greg,
Come on over to MSTA FlyBy Week in Marietta, OH in a couple of weeks- August 20-26. Marietta is only about 220 miles from West Chester. If you can't come for the week, just come over on Thursday or Friday. From West Chester, it's only about 3-1/2 hours if you slab it, about 5 if you do backroads. You can leave after work on Friday and still make it, have a great ride and fun time at our largest regional rally. Take a twisty route home on Sunday and you've had a great weekend of sport-touring fun.
We've got 17 routes with over 4000 miles of twisty roads to choose from at the rally. Check out our website at http://flybyweek.com (http://flybyweek.com)
Check out the new EZ Route selector to preview routes. http://flybyweek.com/EZselector.html (http://flybyweek.com/EZselector.html)
If you want to ride some twisties between home and Marietta, check out the route from US 35 at Chillicothe to Marietta at http://flybyweek.com/getthere.html (http://flybyweek.com/getthere.html)
There will probably be about 150 of us to meet and ride with. Hope we get to see you!
