KAW green left side bag
« on: July 27, 2018, 07:06:41 AM »
Had a little get off over the 4th resulting in the need for a Left hand bag so I don't have to buy a set.  Long shot on this forum I know but maybe I'll get lucky.  Ping me if you have a line on one.  Feel free to cross post this if you are on another forum that might be able to help a guy out.

You might check the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 forum, since the bags fit both models.

Good news!  I got a full set in the right color shipped to me for $500 from a fellow Versys rider.  That will save me about $600.  Bad news same day I got a $200 camera speeding ticket from some little town of 251 people along the Ohio river.  I thought they outlawed those things.  Apparently not.

What town?  I heard something about New Richmond putting those in, but not sure if that’s happened or is just a proposal.   There was a county mounty sitting in the shade on 52 in Higginsport yesterday.  In a black SUV, hard to see until you were right on him.  Goes from 55 to 35 real quick along there.  I passed him doing about 39, so we got through OK.

Did you?  That's where I got clipped.  Higginsport OH.  Pop 251.  I saw the same cop as I recall and thought I was okay as the limit changed suddenly and I was slowing.  Obviously not.  If I'm understanding they just have the camera in the car with the officer so they can get around the law change.  They shot my front tag.   It's a fringing speed trap.   While it sucks and should be illegal I'll just have to consider it a tax collected at unscheduled frequencies.

And it's a tax that keeps on taking. Insurance can be affected and probably other things as well.

They shot your front tag?  So this happened in a car? Was trying to understand how the traffic camera got a bike, since they usually take picture as you approach.

I have a simple rule, when I'm on a highway and enter towns I slow down, even without or before seeing a speed limit. Traffic, pedestrians, kids, pets all those hazards are a good reason to slow. I'm more likely to accelerate too soon leaving town, that's the last time I was pulled over (let off with a warning) for speeding. Still I've seen some of these speed traps and know how easy it can be to miss the sign, or not have enough time to slow.

It was the car.  I don't recall going through the town.  It's 251 people spread down the banks of the OHIO river.  I wouldn't be surprised if the welcome to town sign and thanks for coming are on the same post!  I'm looking at this like when your dad popped you and you said I didn't do anything and he said BANK IT.  Plenty of times I should have gotten pinched and didn't.  It's just a road use tax.  Rat Bastards.
