Hi All. I'm planning to head up for the races this weekend.

The loose plan:

  • Hit the road ~ 7 AM from northern Chicagoland
  • Take the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive all the way up to Elkhart Lake, WI. Probably take most of the day
  • Get a m/hotel
  • Head over to Road America Sunday morning
For those are are north of Chicagoland, we wold meet up along the way by setting a certain meeting time at a location en route. For those near or south of me, we could meet at my place.

I would most likely ride up there through rain, as long as it wasn't supposed to be bad all day. But if it's supposed to rain in Elkhart Lake on race day, I'd probably cancel. I've been there and watched racing in the rain, and it sucked the fun out of it.

Anyone?

The forecast is 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms for the ride up Saturday, but sunny and 65 for the races Sunday.
