Just curious...now that 16" (front) tires are starting to get more challenging to find, what kind did you put on this bike?

The tires have less that 500 miles, but were installed about 9 years ago when I did some work on the bike for the original owner.  And, about 1.5 yr ago, she sold the VF750F to me, because she had not ridden it since that time.  Front is Pirelli MT09, 120/80VB16.  Rear is Pirelli MT08, 130/80V18.  As can be seen in the photos, they are like new.  But, with that age, I would not want to run it at high speed, even it they do look good and were holding air all these years.  I decided to let the next person decide if they are going to run it, or keep it as a collector, and then would not want to spend extra for new tires.

One thing I did not mention in the ad, it is original paint.

Ok, see where you're coming from on the tires, probably ok for show or to ride a short distance around a bike show area, but probably not for real road riding, regardless of the miles.

Geoffrey the early Honda CBR900 also used 16" tires if I'm not mistaken, one of my brothers had one of those and always had pretty limited selection.

The reason I was asking about tires is that I have an '86 VFR700 with a 16" front wheel. Yes, it's been a challenge to find appropriate tires. I currently have a mismatched set of Continentals mounted on the bike (at least they're the same brand). I've got a couple of thousand miles on them now, and I'd rate them as ok. The rear looks like a reasonably modern tire design but the front looks like a design from a couple of generations removed.

The VF750F is SOLD SOLD SOLD

I think I was too low on the price.  I had a few people tell me that is was too low.  I listed it on a few more forums and cycletrader.com, and had 4 very interested people from across the nation and some so so interested.  It turned out that I sent an email to a friend in Houston, TX last week and yesterday he sent an email, saying I want it, do you deliver? I thought he was joking.

From the time of the first email to the time of $3000 transferred to my bank account was less than 3 hours.  He wanted to make sure that nobody else got it first and offered the extra $'s.  He also offered another $1000 to deliver, but as of today, it will be shipped to Houston.  He collects cycles and wanted this for his collection.

Thanks to all the suggestions and comments from everyone about the V45.  He also is buying new tires and will have ready to install when it gets delivered as he keeps all his bikes ready to ride and rides them all.  I was hoping to deliver and see his collection of cycles and cars.  Maybe next time.

Now onto the next project.  My wife says, Really?

When last needed for a Nighthawk S, Metzler made ME33's for the front 16" wheel. I was and am a big fan of Metzler's. I have 3 different types on 3 different bikes. All of them radials, however. Just my .02.
BTW, I don't "collect" bikes. I seem to accumulate them,   ::)  It's much better to ride them, though.  TM

I like that comment, I don't "collect" bikes.  I seem to accumulate them.  Sometimes it seems like collecting, when I do not have time to ride.  That is like the friend that bought this VF750F, he tries to ride them all.  Of course he has more riding weather than us in the north country, such as MN, being he is in TX.
