STAR 2018 / Re: After STAR 18 in La Crosse Report

Marty, curious about the COG National. Lots of good reviews on the COG forum but was wondering what the attendance was.
I attended the HSTA STAR in June 1990. It was fun but many of us spent a whole lot of time in the pool or the Rio Frio!

You can count me and Stacie in the % that plan to attend every year. But watching MotoGP this week I was longing to be at Lagna Seca  again watching from the hill; and reminiscing about my epic bike trip out there in 1989 on my Ninja. Maybe the timing will be right in 2020...
I began my riding days in Southern California, first on a CX-500 Honda, then a Kawasaki 1100 Spectre (shaft drive in line 4 like the CHiPs bikes) and then a 94 VFR750. I rode to Laguna Seca for races at least 10 times from the late 80's through about 1999. Such wonderful memories of riding up there so many times, and the first time I went camped in the infield (86 or 87 I think). This was before a major change to the track. That was also my first exposure with Richard Battles and the fine people at RKA - didn't buy anything but was wowed by their stuff.

Yep the guys are correct. We are on the road post STAR and plan on getting home mid to late July. I then jump onto the photo editing, then burn CD’s and print the group photos for those that ordered them and get those mailed out as my top priority. After that’s complete I start my uploads to our photo site for all to see!
The group photo in particular takes some post processing as I add the event logo, text and edit to make everyone look good! ;)
Be patient it will be coming in the weeks to come.
Also watch for Nicky’s October STAReview which usually features STAR with lots of articles and pics! -JEP-

I was looking for some photos for the after STAR report and Jim and Dianne sent a message that they will be home in late July.  He will then download them.  Hang in there.  They are busy enjoying the ride home.  In the meantime we can view Bryan's photos.

I've seen some photos here, but I've yet to see the group photo and I assume that will be posted there too at some point? I saw a photo of the photographer on a ladder so I know there must be a group photo.
Sorry if I seem kinda needy.  ::)

Jim and Diane Park are still on the road back from STAR.  He and Bryan Dunlop shared the photographer duties, but Jim actually takes care of the archives.  Sooner or later there will be a group photo posted, and it’s also sure to be in the STAReview recap of STAR issue due this fall.  But it may still be some time before its all done.

We trailered from Owatonna, MN to Ark in 2015 and to Colorado last year.  Part of the reason is time, as both we left after my wife got off work and drove for 4-6 hours.  I still like Pat's #4, 5, and 7 choices.

Hopping on a jet and renting a bike or car at the other end is expensive but so is traveling back and forth across the country with all those additional hotel nights & meals.  I agree about not wanting to cross KS in June.
